The Landcare Association of South Australia (LASA) are now finalising the roll out of the new Landcare SA Financial Assistance Package.
There were two components to this Package:
Groups were able to apply for this funding through a simple tick-box opt-in form, with 100% of eligible groups receiving funding.
Worth almost $65,000, LASA supported 38 groups with small grants of $1,645 for essential equipment like PPE and first aid kits, as well as plants, guards, tools, signage and more.
LASA also provided a total of $13,000 in reimbursements to 11 groups to cover their insurance fees. Some groups are paying up to $2,500 in insurance out of their own pockets, which has now been covered by LASA.
LASA Executive Officer, Dr Eleanor Pratt, said she was thrilled to be rolling out this new package – “It’s great to now be able to put money directly into grassroots Landcare, helping our members to cover some of those basic costs that are essential to their Landcare activities – insurance, equipment and materials.”
“It’s been great to hear the feedback from the groups, they’re all very excited to be able to access this core funding.”
The Landcare Financial Assistance Package will be back in 2024. Apply here to become a LASA member group now to be able to access this member-only funding.
This package will provide $350K over four years directly to community Landcare, and is funded by the SA State Government’s Care for Landcare Program.
