Diversity in Landcare

The Landcare Association of South Australia (LASA) acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first Landcarers and custodians of the Country we work, live and Landcare on. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. In the spirit of reconciliation, we pay our respect to their elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples.

LASA strives to be an inclusive workplace and community for people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and life experiences. We aim to create a safe and welcoming Landcare community in SA, and encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples, those with multicultural backgrounds, people with a disability and members of the LGBTQIA+ community to reach out to us to discuss how you can become involved in Landcare and our organisation.

LASA works to educate the Landcare community about how to create an inclusive volunteering space, running Cultural Engagement for Better Understanding and Plain Language workshops, and engaging and collaborating with Aboriginal communities where ever possible with the guidance of our Indigenous Engagement Subcommittee.
