Friends of Hindmarsh River Estuary

Friends of the Hindmarsh River Estuary are focused on improving the biodiversity of the much loved Hindmarsh River in collaboration with the Biodiversity Team of the City of Victor Harbor. Over the past 4 years our wonderful group of 30 volunteers have planted over 4,800 native species seedlings. Our activities over 5000 hours includes feral weed removal, collecting native species seedlings and propagation through to watering and management of new growth. We work closely with the Monarto Zoo in the collection and removal of large woody weeds which are used as feed for elephants, giraffes and various animals at the Zoo.
