Landcare Roadshow kicks off with Sustainable Farming forum

The 2022/23 Landcare Roadshow has kicked off in Watervale, Clare Valley on the 25th of October with a forum on Sustainable Farming and Landcare, highlighting the overlap between these two communities.

Hosted by MC Annabelle Ottens (Homer) (below right) the local community were treated to talks from native grassland experts Nicola Barnes (below left) and Anne Brown and National EcoVineyards Program Manager Dr Mary Retallack (below centre).

We also heard from local Landcarers Leonie Moore and Helen Parkin from the Upper Wakefield Landcare Group, Susan Cunningham from Climate Connect – Mid North, Pam Payne from the Barossa Bushgardens (2021 SA Landcare Partnerships Award Winner), and Andrea Tschirner from Quorn Landcare Group and SA Arid Lands Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator.

Attendees stuck around after for some nibbles and networking. What a great opportunity to meet other local Landcarers!

Displays and trade tables were from the Upper Wakefield Landcare Group, Auburn Primary School (2021 SA Landcare Award finalist), Barossa Bushgardens, ArborGreen and the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board.

The Landcare Roadshow is supported by Green Adelaide and the National Landcare Network. Thank you also to the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board for supplying AV equipment for the event, and to all of those that helped in the lead up to the event and on the day.

Our next Roadshow event is in Henley Beach, Adelaide on the 23rd of November 2022.
