On behalf of the 2017 Landcare Conference Committee, the Landcare Association of SA is pleased to announce that the 2017 State Community Landcare Conferencewill be held from 11 to 13 September 2017, at Clare. The Conference will include the 2017 State Landcare Award presentations.
With the theme of Celebrating Innovation and Diversity in Landcare, the Conference will showcase Landcare and natural resources programmes from across South Australia. As in 2015, the Conference will include keynote presentations by national, state, regional and local leaders in Landcare and natural resources management. It will bring together Landcarers from across South Australia to network with peers, share experiences and ideas, acknowledge the huge achievements of the Landcare community and inspire Landcarers to continue their valuable work.
Through keynote addresses, presented papers, workshops and field tours the Conference will explore innovation and diversity in Landcare in four key streams of engagement | security | enterprise | partnerships. These streams will integrate and address Landcare themes of Biodiversity Management and Conservation, Aboriginal Land Management, Coastal Management and Sustainable Farming and Fishing.
Conference delegates are also invited to experience landcare and natural resource management in the Northern and Yorke NRM Region, through five field toursto local sites and projects.
The Conference will be held at the Clare Country Club in the beautiful Clare Valley, one of South Australia’s premier wine producing regions, less than 2 hours from Adelaide.

LASA is convening the Conference with the support of a Conference Steering Committee that includes representatives from the Upper Wakefield Landcare Group, YP Alkaline Soils Group, Ag Ex Alliance, NRM Boards, DEWNR, PIRSA, Conservation Council of SA, Australian Government and Landcare Australia Limited.

Entries are now open for the 2017 South Australian Landcare Awards. Nominations are invited from Landcare leaders working on sustainable farming, Coastcare, Junior Landcare, Indigenous land management, and much more. With nine national categories there is certain to be one to fit any kind of Landcare project.
Entries close 15 July 2017. and nominations will be welcome across the 9 Landcare Award categories using the Landcare Australia Ltd Online Portal.
