Shoal Bay Landcare

The Shoal Bay Landcare group exists to coordinate land management activities around Shoal Bay on North Eastern Kangaroo Island. This spectatcular area of KI contains a mix of lifestyle bush blocks and farming land and is home to a large swathe of intact old growth Narrow Leaved Malee Woodland (a threatened ecological community). Amongst this bushland are many threatened species including the Kangaroo island echidna, heath goanna, brown-headed honeyeater and purple-gaped honeyeater to name but a few. The activities of the group include: - threatened species monitoring - fire management planning - coordinated feral cat control - revegation - weed control - community engagement
