Welcome Sheree Bowman, the new Landcare SA Chairperson

Landcare SA is pleased to welcome Sheree Bowman as the new Chairperson of the association!

Unlike the role of the Prime Minister, Landcare SA had a very smooth transition in its leadership when Gerry Butler, our long-serving and highly dedicated Chairperson, announced his intention to stand down from the role at our AGM on 30 August. The Landcare SA Management Committee then elected Sheree as its new Chairperson at its meeting in September.

Sheree is well known to many people, having worked and volunteered in the NRM sector for many years, with extensive experience in working with communities to achieve on-ground results. She has worked within community and government and now runs her own successful consulting business from Nairne in the Adelaide Hills. Sheree is passionate about the Landcare movement and is keen to continue the process of invigorating Landcare in SA and wants the Association to reach out and connect with as many groups as possible.

Landcare SA and the whole Landcare Community across the state express their sincere thanks to Gerry Butler for his many years of dedication to the Landcare movement as Chairperson of the Association. Gerry took on the role of Chairperson when Landcare was at a very low ebb and has worked tirelessly to reinvigorate the movement across SA. But this is not a farewell for Gerry as he will continue to support Landcare as an active member of the Landcare SA Management Committee and will take a lead role with a number of projects, including Chairing the 2019 SA Landcare Conference Steering Committee.  You just cant keep a good man down!
