SA Lions Clubs Districts and Landcare SA sign MOU

LASA and the SA Lions Clubs International districts have recently signed an MOU to increase collaborative opportunities for all members!

The Landcare Association of South Australia recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Lions Clubs International two South Australian Districts (201C1 and 201C2).

This agreement acknowledges the shared commitment to community and the environment.

“The Landcare Association of South Australia is excited to embark on this partnership with Lions Clubs. They have been an important feature of South Australian rural and urban communities for several decades and have many of the same values as grassroots Landcare.” LASA Executive Officer, Dr. Eleanor Pratt.

“We’re delighted to be able to link up our Landcare groups with their local Lions Clubs to achieve better outcomes for the environment and the whole community.” Dr. Pratt said.

The Lions Club International Districts of 201 C1 and 201 C2 also expressed how pleased they are to formalise this relationship with LASA to expand the reach of both LASA and Lions members in caring for the environment.

The environment is a major focus area for Lions International so it is important that these types of partnerships are recognised and built upon.” Lions District 201 C1 District Governor, Zig Osis.

“We join with Lions from 201 C1 and Landcare Association of South Australia with a vision for the future. As we all experience the effects of our changing environment, there has never been a more critical time than now, to share and collaborate ideas which can be implemented by the many Lions in our districts.” Lions District 201 C2 District Governor, Ruth Pearsons.

To celebrate the MOU, Dr. Pratt recently presented to several of the southern Adelaide Lions Groups about how we can work together. Some of her tips were:
     – Contact LASA to be connected with your local Lions Clubs,
     – Reach out to your local Lions Club to offer support at one of their events or to ask for
       support at yours,
     – Invite Lions Club members to attend and/or speak at your events,
     – Organise shared training days and community networking events, and
     – Collaborate on joint grant applications and projects.
