Representatives from the Landcare Association of SA (LASA) and grassroots Landcare community were honoured to have dinner with the Parliamentary Friends of Landcare SA at Parliament House on the 4th of June 2024.

Members of the LASA volunteer Management Committee and staff were joined by grassroots Landcarers from around the state, with a chance to raise the visibility of community Landcare and advocate for additional support! Guests heard from several of the community groups, showcasing a quick snapshot of the diversity, impact and passion of Landcare in SA.

A special thank you to co-conveners Geoff Brock MP, Eddie Hughes MP and Josh Teague MP, and their invited guests Deputy Premier Hon Susan Close MP (Minister for Climate, Environment and Water), Hon Clare Scriven MLC (Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development and Minister for Forest Industries) and Jack Batty MP (Shadow Assistant Minister for Environment and Heritage) for supporting grassroots Landcare in SA.

Thank you to the community groups and representatives that could join us – The Gums Landcare Group, Port Augusta Coastcare, Biodiversity McLaren Vale, Coorong Tatiara Local Action Plan, Buckleboo Station – Paroo Pastoral Company and Semaphore Largs Dunes Group. It was wonderful to be able to show off the work that you and so many others do for South Australian landscapes!
