Biodiversity McLaren Vale brings together community, government and industry to actively protect and enhance the biodiversity of the region, benefiting our environment, economy and community. With a mission to double regional biodiversity over the next decade, our volunteers have been removing invasive weeds and replanting with native seedlings since 2013, creating a healthier, more biodiverse McLaren Vale.
Since our inception, our work has focused on enhancing indigenous biodiversity within the Willunga Basin and McLaren Vale region to foster a regenerative rural economy, farms and community. While we work at a landscape scale, we primarily target creek lines within the region, removing feral vegetation (olives, dog rose and other invasive weeds) and replacing them with native species to create healthy, biodiverse corridor linkages and enhance and expand areas of native vegetation.
