We are hiring for a brand new position – State Landcare Coordinator – to boost support and capacity in the South Australian Landcare community.


We are looking for someone with a passion for local environmental and agricultural land management issues, and who is keen to support Landcare volunteers to improve our local landscapes.

State Landcare Coordinator

Work from home (with travel), home base negotiable within SA

$65,000 – $76,000 p.a. + super. Full-time/part-time (negotiable)

Landcare Association of South Australia (LASA)

  • Support Landcare groups and Landcarers around South Australia to build capacity and resilience, and to enable groups to undertake works that protect, enhance and restore the land and natural environment.
  • Work closely with the Executive Officer to focus on capacity building in the Landcare community, to enable groups to successfully deliver projects, leverage existing funding streams and become more sustainable.

About us

The Landcare Association of South Australia (LASA) is the peak body for Landcare representation and advocacy in South Australia (SA).

We are a membership-based organisation that works in sustainable agriculture and natural environment conservation. LASA currently has 61 member groups of varied size, complexity and geographic locations across SA, as well as 160 individual members.

About you

You must have tertiary qualifications, plus at least three years professional experience, in agriculture, environmental science, conservation, natural resource management, volunteer support, communications or similar.

You must have exemplary interpersonal skills, excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate groups of people. You must be self-motivated, able to self-manage and have strong written communication skills.

You must be able to work collaboratively with groups, government/agency staff, farmers, rural landowners, and/or community members to develop partnerships, plan projects, and deliver events and activities. Experience working with volunteers and/or in a member-based or not-for-profit organisation is desirable.

You must be proficient in Office 365, and comfortable with other digital technologies, such as CRM software. Ideally you will also have experience with social media, WordPress and Mailchimp.

You will have a strong interest in, and commitment to, local environmental and agricultural land management issues.
