Our group’s focus is the upper reaches of the Wakefield River. Our aims are twofold. Firstly, to improve water quality for plants and invertebrates by removing non-native plant species. Secondly, to reduce erosion and potential damage to property and infrastructure from flooding.
Our current attention is in the township of Auburn between the Kings Street ford and Ford Street. Our jobs include removing invasive weeds and trees, replanting with indigenous plants and maintaining the areas where we have taken action. We meet monthly on the 4th Sunday of the month.
