The Port MacDonnell Landcare Group manages Germein Reserve. We undertake projects including habitat restoration, revegetation and pest plant and control. Port MacDonnell Landcare Group meets on the second Tuesday night of every month at the Victoria Hotel, Port MacDonnell. New members are always welcome.
We have been instrumental in creating and restoring Germein Reserve to the valuable habitat that it provides today for a range of local plants and animals.
Over the last 40 years we have been highly successful in accessing funding to help revegetate Mt Schank, created local wildlife corridors through private land, rehabilitated local caves, helped restore coastal habitat, planted native woodlots and established seed orchards, developed walking trails, undertaken pest plant and animal control, helped restore wetlands and trialled new techniques to increase biodiversity in the Lower South East of South Australia.
