Basket Range Landcare

The Basket Range Landcare Group is presently working at the Basket Range Cricket Club, we meet on the last Saturday of the month. We have rehabilitated a section that was an eyesore. This involved removing rubbish and kikuyu grass, mulching the area continually as it breaks down and planting native seedlings.

Kersbrook Landcare have been our source of plants, we buy between $200 and $500 worth of seedlings from them annually and then we are gifted excess plants at the end of their sales period. The excess plants are passed to local landholders, other gardening groups, 6th Creek Landcare Group, or used in various locations around the district where there are bare patches. The Basket Range site adjoins the Cricket Club and joins two areas of native bushland. We are working to eradicate English and South African broom, blackberry and other weeds on these 2 adjoining bushland areas.
