Barossa Bushgardens

The Barossa Bushgardens is a community initiative on 7.5ha that showcases and supplies regional native flora and promotes sustainable Natural Resource use.

We work with the community and volunteers to grow the Barossa Bushgardens as a natural community hub. The public, businesses and schools are welcome to learn about our local native vegetation and get an understanding of the importance of biodiversity and habitats. We strive to be inclusive and accessible for all abilities.

The site includes a Botanic Garden, Seed Orchard, Native Plant Nursery, and Community Centre. Showcased are 100 of the Barossa’s 400 native plant species. Volunteers have tirelessly worked on developing display gardens, pathways and signage. Largely cared for by volunteers, plants can be ordered or purchased direct from the Nursery.
