2017 SA Landcare Conference Art Awards launch at Watervale and Auburn Primary Schools – Monday 26 June 2017.

The 2017 State Landcare Conference 11-13 September 2017 being held in Clare, South Australia will be complemented by the Landcare Art Awards.

Invitations are extended to artists across South Australia, in a number of categories, in Open, Aboriginal and Youth, including 3 categories for Primary School students. The Art Awards Theme is ‘Celebrating Innovation and Diversity in Landcare – What landcare means to me’.

Keywords that we anticipate artists will use follow the Conference streams of ‘Engagement’, ‘Security’, ‘Enterprise’ and ‘Partnerships’.

The Watervale and Auburn Primary Schools are enthusiastically looking forward, to the opportunity for their students to show the wider community how they are looking after the environment and their future.

The Awards were launched at the schools on:

• Watervale Primary School – 26 June 1000-1030; and
• Auburn Primary School – 26 June 1100-1130.

Mr Gerry Butler Chairman of the Landcare Association of SA said that “As the Conference facilitator we have strongly advocated for Youth and Aboriginal engagement in the Conference and the Art Awards. These Awards will provide an additional opportunity to express “What Landcare means to Me!”’
